last night we had a cable fault in our urd loop. we found the fault and insulated the bad section. when we went to pick up the rest of the loop the transformer bushing blew up on us, then keep tracking and blew up again taking out the 100 amp fuse. once we started to figure out the problem we found these transformers had water in the bushings. this transformer was replaced the day before due to a sec. cable fualt taking out the interal fuse. the brand of transformer was a central maloney. when we when back to the shop to get a new one we found 5 out of 7 that had water in the pri bushing. we had just recieved these can just one to two weeks ago. has anyone else had this problem. if your company uses this brand you better watch your self. this is the last surprise that any of us needs. stay safe

i posted the near miss on central maloney transformers. update. the company said that the water entered the bushing at the factory. the bushing caps had holes in them, so when the units were power washed before shipping water entered the bushings just whating for some poor lineman to pick up load and have a fire. check your cans and got them squared away, don't take chances. stay safe
