A buddy of mine went to make a three phase trans. hot. He thought it was a 277/480. It was marked with brown, orange, yellow phasing tape. After he closed the fuse barrels he checked the secondary. He put his 30,000 volt gloves on and checked with a volt meter. It blew up in his hands! The sec. volt was 4100 phase to phase. No one bothered to mark the voltage on the trans. other than the name plate. This is the only one like this on our system. So please, if you have something out of the ordinary please mark it so it can be easily seen.
