Submitted By - big dogIt was 2 am in the morning and got a call for a pole fire. It was a rainy night as I jumped in the trouble truck and headed out to the location given by dispatch. I had put out lots of fires in the past with brush fire packs. Ya know the kind that have the hand pump on the handle. When I arrived I coul hear the 477 feeder line buzzing and the pole was burned about half way through at the nuetral position and the flames were still raging. I got my trusty water pistol out and ascended to the nuetral level keeping a safe distance (about fifteen feet or so)and began to spray water on the fire. This added more fuel to the fire really stupid thing to do since I heard it trying to get to ground in the first place. Next time I'll tell em to dump the feeder or let er hit the ground before I'll take a chance like that again. Remember SAFETY First !!
