My dad passed away 4 years ago in Hammond, OK. He didn't die on duty as a lineman but I know he loved his job more than anything he was a Foreman for Davis Elliott. My dad was my everything.  My parents divorced when I was barely 2 years old and I had many troubles home with my mom. So I decided to move in with my dad at the age of 14. He gave me everything I ever wanted bought me a horse, helped me with school. He went from a man I hardly knew to my best friend, my hero. 4 months after I finally was able to have a life with my father tragedy struck... He was workin in OK on a storm and we got a call from the hospital saying his buddy/co-worker who we knew very personally for he was from our hometown and was a long term work partner with my dad... the hospital called and said that the friend of my fathers had been careflighted to Cheyenne Hospital and had been in a car accident and they couldn't get a hold of his wife so they wanted us to find her. They didn't even mention my dad but we knew that him and his friend were together so we asked if he was okay. They said they didnt know anything about him at the time so we called state troopers in OK and finally one of our own TX state troopers pulled in the drive and instantly I knew something was wrong he confirmed who we were and told us the news.. My Dad dead. I was distraught!

My only savior, the only person I could run to when I needed help was gone. My invincible, strong, caring, hard headed Dad wasn't there anymore.

Dad I miss you. I miss seein you come home every weekend and plop down in that recliner of yours and i would unlace your boots, take them off, then run straight to the kitchen and get you a glass of ice water ''lippin full'' of ice and come over there and lay in that recliner with you when I was near you I felt so, so, so safe. I will never feel that safe again. You were the most HARD WORKING MAN I've ever met you worked your ass off to help everyone around you but yourself. I look up to you so much and you have taught me everything I know in so little time. I will always respect you and love you. You are a man with a heart of gold. Thanks for makin me a good person and thanks for being there. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU I just cant say it enough.
