As a Troubleman in Oakland,Ca. in the mid 1980’s I saw some action electrical and on the streets. One call comes to mind a elderly lady had a part out one eve I arrived and soon replaced a 20 amp. Fuse ok….before I left she asked “what about the man inside the walls that keeps pushing the plugs out after she pushes them in” I had never heard this one before. She was a very sweet little old lady I was sure a widow and lonely. So I said “Oh is he here too”? Yes she said and is getting worse. I took her lamp cord and tied a loose half hitch in it about a foot from the plug and told her he couldn’t push it out anymore! She thanked me with a hug and some cookies. A couple weeks later my boss called me in said he got this letter from her saying what a great employee I was he asked the details then told me to please teach these skills to the other Troublemen I laugh and told him that’s not my job!
