I'm a lineman with a cooperative in Alabama. On January 2,2001 a 55' Hi-ranger 5TC, 1995 model, bucket broke off end of boom with me in bucket. I was approx. 35' off ground. The bracket that is attached to the bucket was welded to a pivot point on the bucket. This is a material handler bucket. I was wearing my harness, this kept me from falling to the ground. I was only bruised a little in my back. I would like to know if anyone else has heard of this happening and how often has it happened.
